Book Interview on Birthing & Coaching for Writers

Book Interview on Birthing & Coaching for Writers

hi everyone Surprise them on again first I haven't been for month and now I'm really doing it a lot it's fun it's fun I love it and let me just see ya share this life I think I have to have a look on another one it's probably nobody on yet anyway watching so I might as well do you in writing let's see if I can see myself here that is always I should have thought about that before I thought I could just do it and knowing no straightaway but obviously not part Here I am brilliant okay I'll just share that across quickly okay in a group creations and because this is all about writing tonight book writing actually I'm also going to share that in my book store group where you have free advertising for your books no matter what genre it is so it's called tells us book store which is a public group as well so you can just have a look at that and if you are writing books as well if you have a book published you can go in there and advertise yourself as well so that allows for even my personal paycheck yes oh I don't need to change that around no okay right so we've done that oh hi Steve nice to see you I wasn't sure anybody was gonna jump in in the middle of the night but then again of course you know in different parts of the world it's different times as well I wanted to tell you about a interviewer hat today I was interviewing and the wonderful thing about this is and I found they're very exciting a friend of mine did a shout out I saw it on on Instagram actually that she said she was gonna write a book on giving birth and she was looking for women who'd given birth and were willing to talk about it be interviewed and so she's doing the research for her book and because I have three children which I gave birth to myself not adopted I'm adopted so you know I'm saying that these are my birth children so you know but not all children are to some you know you might adopt children you might be a patchwork family whatever but I've actually given birth myself three times three times it was very different plus she is an American and I'm German and I gave birth II in Germany and she also said that she would love to hear from women in different countries so she can you know compare the different approaches of how a child birth is you know being done in different contexts and cultures and and countries as well so yeah I think we were going to talk for about an hour it turned that over to and it was so much fun I really loved it in the middle of my son actually walked in although he wasn't even supposed to be here and so he said hello to her as well and because all that happened and I was talking to her and afterwards you know after we said goodbye I was thinking about writing books and I do have 24 books published so I know I'm talking about for sure mm-hmm and I've also I've got different books it's not just one genre for those of you who don't know me or haven't read any of my work yet I've got a spiritual poetry book hi Denise and I've got I have got a romantic poetry book I've got like a book which is like a travelogue parenting with a bit of magic in kind of book you know that spends a couple of generous day as well then I've got a children's book and then I've got 20 romance novels that are written adult romance okay they're graphic so don't leave them laying around your children when you get one so you know I'm written that book for children because my daughter my youngest daughter said to me you know mama you always tell me such wonderful bedtime stories which I make up myself most of the time you know because she prefers that and then she said you need to write a children's book as well why do you always write for adults so we had this one day when she was 8 years old she is 12 now she just turned 12 on on Sunday and when she was 8 we had this conversation about how energy works how you manifest and all that kind of thing so then I told a friend of mine with a voice message on whatsapp and she came back to me and she said you know you need to write that down write a blog about it or something so I thought oh yeah cool great idea I do that you know and of course that blog turned into a book so that was the children's book and my daughter is really really happy that I've written your children's book as well so but mostly obviously the other 23 books are about the other 23 books are for for adults and Denise I'm sorry I am NOT doing any readings right now I'm talking about writing books in case you haven't listened better you know you can learn a lot of for that about it and I also want to give some tips to writers not only people writing books but also those writing posts because you know you're involved online with you know you have to market your own stuff your your services and all that and and you post and write texts with it and some time ago already I found that there's a lot of mistakes being made which are very very basic stuff and it's very easy to correct that and it makes your post look so much easier as well and it's so much easier to read and they look a lot more professional so I would love to tell you about this which is this a thing is five points but let me have a look at that because the first one is your and your now you might think that it's absolutely obvious one is your with why oh you are and the other one is why o you apostrophe re okay that's a very common mistake that people mix that up you're with an R at the end is a possessive pronoun that means you are saying something belongs to you the person that you talk to and address to as you okay so when I'm when I'm talking to you and I'm saying this is your book that is the you with an R at the end okay when I'm saying you're tired that is a you apostrophe re because that is the short version of you are and this is a state of being because you are something and not a possession okay it's got nothing to do that you own the time it knows it means you are tired okay so that is the first thing those little things they are very important because they make so much of a different difference in the impression you give to people okay and the level of professionalism that you have so the next one is very similar there there and there okay so we have they apostrophe or e which is the short form of they are then you have th e IR which is their like their books belonging to them okay that that's another statement about possession again yeah their books th e ir belonging to them okay and then there is there which is th ER e which means it's over there and not here right that is a place that you're pointing out is there okay it's over there so keep these in mind already please then and these are usually are very similar who's and who's so who wh o apostrophe s means who is or who has okay that's a short form an abbreviation you call that okay so that is who is or who has then there is whose wh OS e and again that's referring to possession whose book is that okay I'm asking whose book is is who whom does this book belong to all right that's the possession who's as in WH o apostrophe s means who is or who has write the next one is then and then with an e or with an A and that one I feel is apart from your own your is the most commonly made mistake you have to think about are we talking about time sequence or consequence which means when you say I cooked the soup then I ate it so after I cook the soup the next step is sequence I added ok it's a timely sequence that you're doing it's relating to time is also to consequence if you do something then you have this and that result okay so there's a consequence following a certain action or inaction as the case may be the then with an A is a comparison you are taller than me okay that means it's a comparison we're not on the same height it's got nothing to do with time because it happens in the urine now you are taller than me okay so that's a comparison you compare one thing with another and when it's an unequal comparison than you have been okay so then haha which was then with an e by the way it's just now we've got this wonderful word affect and effect with an A at the beginning or an E and that's something that people mix up all the time as well you say something is affecting me with an A when you feel an effect with an e on yourself okay so effect is usually a verb it means something is affecting you it has an influence on you okay and that is with an A when you say it has an effect that means that is a noun it is the effect okay so that is a noun and that's with an e there is not very often that you ever have effect with an A as a noun so you might if if in doubt if you use it as a verb use an A and if you use it as a noun use an e very very seldom it's a different way so you I'm not going to confuse you with the with the little x that is different because if you go rule by thumb you'll be going really well with that one okay and the next one that I have is should should wouldn't could now a lot of people write when they say I should have done something they're right I should of like should and then Oh F the word off and that's got nothing to do with it because it might sound similar like that but if you really listen to it and I'm sure most of you who listening to me now they have English as a first language and it's not not off it's half okay I should have done something I would have done something and I could have done something okay there is no off so strike that from your brain okay if you ever write something like that just strike it off and forget about that for the rest of your life peace then there is used to and use to one has a D at the end use plus a D at the end two and one is used to without the D so that is a mistake that isn't as commonly widespread as the other ones but that you know it happens and I see it often enough so I thought I put that in my list as well and so used to with the D at the end means that there's a habit formed I'm used to doing something it's a common occurrence or something that I am familiar with that happens all the time or I do all the time something like that okay and used to is a question okay did he used to listen to birds chirping and because he used the did you've got the past past the past Anthony already so did comes with an infinitive that means did he use to listen to birds chirping but he was used to listen to birds chirping okay that's the big difference and then that's really it that's like I think the most common hi Larry that's the most the most common mistakes that people make in grammar and also obviously you know grammar spelling whichever's one that is something if you make mistakes like that consistently it will give a given unprofessional impression okay and even if you don't write books but you write posts you want you know you want to bring your brand across and the most wonderful nicest way that you can and you want to give a good impression and you want people to book your services or buy your products whatever you know it's important that you have that you've written copy that is correct okay so those are mistakes that can easily be avoided but are very often made and if you keep you know if you keep an eye out for those and and if you keep reminding yourself of that and retraining your brain as well to use that properly you know you will find that you make it'll make such a difference and the kind of image you bring across when you write that properly okay so obviously these are very basic things you know and hopefully you should be able to get that right when you decide or if you decide to write a book and you want to be an author as well and I have met a couple of people that wanted to write books just because it was the latest fad because everybody was writing a book and publishing a book and I must say I'm not very pleased with that it's not that I you know it's not about oh you know good enough or anything like that the thing is you should never do anything just because everybody else is doing it as well okay that just makes you a follower and not a leader if what you do if what what makes you happen and and and you know and you really you feel so passionate about it it's writing then right right your heart out you know I do that as well I have to write something and read something every day or I start feeling depressed okay it's as simple as that I've always told stories even before I could read and write I've told stories to my sister okay but if that if something else is making you burn inside because everybody is unique and everybody has their unique talents and gifts and then do what makes you burn okay don't think I've got to write a book because everybody else is writing a book or something you know that is not a reason to write a book the reason to write a book is because you're burning for it really comes from the core of your being that you that you want to share something with the world in writing okay so having said that so when you're at the point we say really want to write this down whether it's a story it takes book or anything else you know if you decide this really comes from my heart and I want to do that but you still not quite sure how to go about it you have self doubts you procrastinate you need somebody to hold you accountable but but you don't yet have to book the resources to like to book a coach which is really expensive or anything you know because I mean who is JK Rowling we all don't have that kind of an income in it so and when you've never actually have published a book and you have to work with very small and limited resources you know very often we're not able to get the help that we need and what I have been thinking about what I would love to do as well I've done some editing in the past for clients as well and I thought I would like to take that a step further I would like to offer quality coaching in writing okay that's got nothing to do with spirituality as such although we can put the spiritual component in there and I would actually advise you to be open to that when you want to work with me okay what I'm doing is offering you at a huge great discount a monthly subscription for coaching in writing okay so if you're saying I need somebody to be with me from scratch and I haven't even started yet I need somebody to help me to kind of build that skeleton and then fill it out all the parts and things you know that's and that that'll take a longer period of time we can do that over a longer period of time if you're saying you know I've written it more or less by need some fine-tuning I need help with the formatting and I'm not sure about the technicalities how to publish it on Amazon that might just take one month so what I'm offering is a monthly subscription that you can cancel anytime at all okay so you can go month by month however long you need it and it's only $39 and when you think about it I've published 24 books okay so I know what I'm doing and you will not find another offer like this so if you want to write a book and you want to have some serious coaching somebody you know who boosts your confidence as well because I totally know how that is to have your inner critic i I didn't publish a book until four years ago because I was constantly comparing myself to Shakespeare and Jane Austen and I thought I wasn't good enough okay I didn't dare and I thought nobody would like that and then in the end I you know my dad step and everybody who read my work really loved it so far so and you grow as well with every book because there's also a different thing when you write just for yourself like I've done for years I never spend a thought about okay when somebody else reads it is that can a reader understand us can he or she follow the plot things like that or you know I usually see a story unfold in front of my eyes it's lucky enough movie that is running along and I'm just kind of writing and in the beginning I noticed that I use a lot of direct speech and there wasn't so much descriptive text so because I saw the characters I knew what they looked like I knew how they would you know how they would act how they would you know all the little mannerisms and you know how they would move about and all that and but of course I read I can't say that okay so I had to get to the point where I was thinking okay so somebody has come in from the outside and you can't see that little mind movie that's going on here right that means it has to be understandable for that person for that reader and they have to enjoy it and I also have to use the language to describe the atmosphere the looks and you know and and and everything around the environment as well so that is something that you grow into when you write for other people which you might not have thought about in the beginning okay so I've worked with a few authors and I'm constantly learning myself as well what I love to do is to try out different styles of writing as well that is something I really love to explore because I don't want to be stuck in you know in one box with the writing style as well of course I do have my stuff and when you read my work you will know that it's mine you know when you're familiar with it but at the same time you know the first time I used to write in first-person singular which is from the meet point okay when I say I did that so I'm actually using the first person and talk as a character and not descriptive looking from the outside in like she did that but I did that you know as the character speaking and things like that so um I've kind of you know I grew I evolved but I also experimented a lot and that's a lot of fun and that takes a lot of courage as well sometimes you know because you think you've done one thing and somebody said oh that's great I love it you know so it's the good Introit and you don't want to deviate from that because you don't know how you know that is going to be received how's that gonna pan out and everything so you might somebody you might need somebody in your corner that tells you you know do that come on let's try that out and if you know if you want to have somebody to help you hi Ruth you talking about writing books here and so when you have somebody in your corner you know that helps you with building the confidence that helps you keep that helps to keep you accountable like have you written your page for today or two pages you know is that kind of stuff do you want to try different style does that feel better to you you know use the past and the present tense and and I have thank you so much Ruth I have recovered yes I just felt sick for two days and then it was gone again and I was fine again and I heard a lot of people were off the full moon that must have affected a lot of people so I was one of those Bob you know it's just a spook for a couple of days and I'm absolutely fine again thank you so much for asking and I'm so looking forward to Sunday night okay when we're doing the formal a bit belatedly oh you love writing how much serendipity is here yes I've given a few little pointers about when people write copy for their posts you know to advertise their services their business whatever the common grammar mistakes they're being made like you're in your and there and there and then and then you know those kind of things in the beginning and then I'm talking about writing books I've published 24 so enough you know been editing and I've also worked with different authors and I'm actually offering coaching for authors I totally you know I totally do that on what you need I'm not gonna say this this is the kind of program I'm doing because that might not fit you it's a very creative process and a very individual one and it's a subscription month by month and you can actually you know cancel anytime you want so you might just need a bit of help for a little short time so you might only need me format one month we also have calls face-to-face you know on camera so we can talk to each other and I will look at the stuff that you're writing so you you know we mail it to to and fro and we talk about what we're doing and we have a group that is only for my coaching people which is you know you can interact with each other or you can just put a question there in between calls or whatever so when you feel like it might be interesting for other people as well to read about you know and that kind of thing so but based mostly it's like personal contact really and that is 39 euros per month okay so that is something I think even a first-time author can easily afford 39 euros is not too much that's it is going out for dinner once or twice depending on where you go you go to McDonald's probably you know two or three times if you go to a proper restaurant you go you go out once with your partner or something you know and and you probably pay more already so and but you know if you're serious about having that kind of commitment and having the help that you need with writing your first book whichever genrih that is if it's fiction or a text book or anything a self-help or scientific whatever you know then you know I'll be very happy to help you and I will also put the spiritual aspect in writing okay and it you can be a spiritual writer without writing about spiritual subjects okay it's in the creative process that you use your spirituality in the writing process rather than what you write a content okay that's not important what the content is important is how you go about it and what kind of energies you put in there so I work with you or not one as well unless you tell me absolutely you know but then I think you might want to find a different coach because you know me I'm a very spiritual person and this is for me and for my work it's very very important to use that as well so that is really a core value in in my creative process and you know and I think doesn't matter what kind of religious or spiritual persuasion you are anything you know working up good vibes and bringing that to the table while you're having this creative process is very important okay so I wanted to talk about this as I was thinking about it why I was being interviewed today about the three birth of my three wonderful children and I will let you know more about this as that goes along because of course my friend is now in the process she's just starting on writing this book she's interviewing lots of women from all around the world so if anybody is interested to be interviewed about childbirth you know and you don't have to have your name put out there you can just tell your story and she'll use a you know a different name or whatever if you want to remain anonymous but you know I've said up you know I'll be happy to talk about it openly and be recorded and she can also use parts of the interview with me and for promotional use and I think that was an absolutely wonderful idea of hers to write about childbirth like that and kind of you know and have a sweep like across the globe to do that not just stay with with the old culture and and environment you know but really look across the board how childbirth is developing also you know like my son is 20 already so that might be different to somebody who's given birth like six months ago you know even here in the same location and I thought there was such a wonderful wonderful idea you know so when she posted that shout out you know I say hello I've got three kids and all different birth so that my and you know I'm in Germany not in America as you L so that might be interesting to you so we had the interview lasted we set up for like one hour and it was over two hours but we had so much fun it was wonderful so you know as her work progresses I will let you know how that's going on with a book and I thought it was absolutely beautiful you know I'm very passionate about being a mom as well and being there for my children and very much a family person you know family is very important to me my children are my world they're always my number one priority so I thought it was such a great idea to you know talk about that and to for me to have the opportunity to share that as well you know with the wider audience so it was really beautiful was not just me helping a friend but you know the friend giving me a platform and also the opportunity to go through all this okay that was a lot of gory stuff there was a lot of pain and blood and whatever involved but there's also so much joy so much relief and so much happiness you know with that and it was wonderful to relive all of that so yeah that made me think about writing and my books and you know and also that I'm offering this program for aspiring authors or even if you've written a book before but at the moment you kind of feel stuck with something I'm here and I'm happy to help you okay so anybody who would like to work with me you can just contact me I've put in the description of the video I put the link as well to the author program you can read through the text and if you have any more questions you know that there's a lot of stuff that that'll tell you how it works but any more questions of course feel free he can contact me anytime and I'm happy to talk to you okay and see if that's a fit with us okay if we gel together so I'm going to say bye for now lots of love mm night-night
