nine young performers from Puerto Rico are in st. Louis this month sharing in a collaborative experience in learning the arts of circus performing the national circus school of puerto rico has teamed up with the local circus harmony to foster the young performers development while strengthening communities with their fun and creative act circus harmony is st. Louis's only social circus school which means we use the teaching and performing of circus arts to motivate social change circus harmony is part of a global network of these social circuses they use this fun environment to create outreach for both the kids and the communities where they perform pyramids for peace is one such program the last time we were in Israel in 2014 we got back four days later Ferguson erupted and so we started pista pyramids programs here in st. Louis with children from Ferguson and Ladue from the south side the North Side from all over the program was extended to Puerto Rico last year after the devastating results of Hurricane Maria circus harmony took nine performers from st. Louis to the Caribbean island to spread some joy during some difficult times last summer we started our peace through pyramids berto Rico program with the National circus school of Puerto Rico and since their circus is the revolution circus and ours is circus harmony we had our very first revolution for harmony tour in Puerto Rico visiting the places hardest hit by the hurricane and bringing the joy and inspiration the kids from Puerto Rico are on their first trip away from home and event quickly drawn comparisons between st. Louis we say mucho de nosotros equity la casa calorie per kilowatt rho e egg buy something ramm de basanti gallery de may boost a mucho there's one comparison that's not welcome and when they say that the politicians are in DC it's like a circus you wish it was like a circus everybody getting along and building something amazing for the joy and inspiration of other people all in all the visiting performers have been impressed with the gateway city all referencing the arch is the highlight their visit most admit that the food is what they missed the most of their homeland but in all their experience in st. Louis has been unforgettable every time I saw a circus show it just made it feel like kind of like magic like this is something people can do but it seems so impossible but it's not it kind of gives that message with it like anybody can do anything
