Comatose artist fighting for his life after vicious Brooklyn beatdown

I bet there are probably millions of people in the world who consider themselves to be artists they may dabble in things such as painting sculpture pottery making jewelry making and alike but I would assume that relatively few can actually make a living at it this next story that I have for you is out of Brooklyn New York it is about one such artist who was going through a rough patch in his life and who must have hoped that he might win some money if he bought a scratch card from a bodega in his neighborhood and for those who don't know what a bodega is bodega is the Spanish name for a small store and before I get into this story I want to tell you guys that there are some law makers in New York who are trying to do away with life sentences of course they don't have the death penalty in New York anymore and these law makers want to pass legislation that would make older inmates aged 55 and older eligible for release from prison even those who are serving life sentences without parole I have some problems with this prison is supposed to be punishment among these politicians are senator Salazar and Tiffany Caban who was running for the District Attorney in Queens Caban says she wants to implement a holistic approach to criminal justice now just what the heck is a holistic approach in other words she cares more about criminals than she does law-abiding citizens this concerns me a great deal I think we have some very dark days ahead of us and I just want to point out the fact that both these women want to decriminalize prostitution Caban was to close the jails on Rikers Island and she says she doesn't want to build any more jails is this woman crazy it is so obvious that Tiffany Chabad and others who think the same way she does care more about criminals than they do innocent victims and this is truly frightening and these women have the backing of alexandria Ocasio Cortez yes we have some dark days ahead I Love New York City or at least the idea of New York City I have only been there twice and both times I visited Manhattan so I don't know much about the other boroughs I just know that if politicians like the one I mentioned have their way New York is going to turn into one giant hellhole or at least some parts of it will okay so let's get back to the story okay I think this sad incident occurred on the 2nd of July the headline reads comatose artists fighting for his life after vicious Brooklyn beatdown in bodega beef so I don't like the headline right away because it makes it sound like you know the victim was fighting with the perpetrator but I don't really believe that's the case and you're gonna find out why after a run of bad luck brought him to Brooklyn artists mark Faust bought a scratch-off lottery ticket hoping for a better future and he might end up paying for that with his life Faust age 66 remained in a coma Thursday with brain damage and only dim hopes of survival after he was beaten to a bloody pulp by a homeless man following a staredown and the victims local bodega the doctor said if by slim chance he survives he'll be in a nursing home Laoghaire nurse said of her former husband and business partner he'll never be the same too much brain damage Faust suffered substantial brain leak and is unlikely to recover any significant brain function prosecutors said at his alleged attackers arraignment Thursday in Brooklyn Criminal Court I love how they use the word alleged because this beating was caught on surveillance camera the ex-wife aged 63 and their son said that Faust was briefly homeless after his 2013 divorce and that he had trouble finding a market for his artwork he relocated from New Jersey to Brooklyn about eighteen months ago mark had a really hard time emotionally so it was tough for him said Renner he was struggling he was trying to get a job he was trying to see if he could sell his art Renner and Faust were partners in a New Jersey business for 22 years until their divorce doing restoration work that included carpentry and installation of stained and etched glass Foss website describes his current work as modern abstract geometric art and he was an art major at William Paterson University in New Jersey now I love art just as much as the next person but stained and etched glass you know those are not necessities and in my opinion it's always best to study something that's practical that you can make a living at he's very talented said renner he does computer imaging prints and such and I guess at the victims age which I think was 66 we're gonna get to his age in a minute it's probably hard to find people that will hire you there is age discrimination of course suspect Jason and they put his nickname in quotes and I'm not even sure if I'm gonna say this correctly chi Chi or KK I believe its Chi Chi spelled ka i ka i sounds like Chi Chi to me Jacobs age 24 allegedly not the much older man to the ground and delivered a vicious beating about 3:15 p.m. Tuesday so yes I was looking at the calendar that means that this beating happened on July 2nd because the article is dated July 5th the attack was caught on video prosecutors said at Jacobs arraignment faust was about to walk away from the confrontation when Jacobs punched him to the ground and then continued to pummel him sounds like Jacobs had some anger issues fuss suffered a broken nose fractured facial bones and severe head trauma with pools of his blood left on the side outside the food core deli on Rodgers and Clarkson avenues in Prospect Lefferts garden paramedics performed chest compressions on Faust when they found he had no pulse Jacobs was arrested a few blocks from the deli a short time after the incident two days after the crime family members heard nothing to inspire optimism about Faust future Faust Sun recalled that his dad sounded upbeat when they briefly spoke on the phone for the last time four days before the incident occurred he was going out to get a job he was going to turn his life around his son said he was on the phone when he was attacked so he was probably talking to an employer according to Renner Faust brother-in-law heard from doctors about the victims grim condition during a Thursday visit to the intensive care unit at Kings County Hospital he said that mark was unrecognizable Jacobs was ordered to be held on three hundred thousand dollar bond or 150 thousand dollar cash at the time he allegedly attacked Faust and there they go again with that word allegedly Jacobs was free on bail over an eerily similar attack just a block away from the deli in that case he allegedly smashed a 56 year old man in the face with a dresser drawer that had been left outside with the garbage in March that case is still pending and you know they haven't shown mr. Jacobs mug shot or any pictures of him and that's very interesting to me because usually they do when I say they I mean the NHIS Jacobs has a total of five previous arrests mostly for marijuana possession and criminal trespass much of Faust artwork remains inside his one-room apartment which was sealed by cops after the attack according to sources the assault came after Faust was waiting behind Jacobs to buy the lottery ticket inside the bodega Jacobs became angry when Faust asked him to hurry up with his order and allegedly attacked him how dare mr. Faust asked mr. Jacobs to hurry up with his order that is completely unacceptable just who does he think he is anyway no one should have to put up with such rudeness especially not mr. Jacobs most of you people just don't understand mr. Jacobs is in need of a bear hug and a good pep talk and he needs to be given some training not thrown into prison for the rest of his life or for the better part of his life after all he is a victim of poverty and a dysfunctional home life he probably had an absentee dad and what of mr. Faust well the man is 66 years old you know he has to die sometime he can't live forever but mr. Jacobs he's only 24 he deserves another chance I'm sure that most of you know by now that I'm being sarcastic if you've watched enough of my videos you will know that I am totally on the side of the victims and I am totally in agreement with punishing criminals I do think that the punishment should fit the crime always I think you need to look at the pattern of mr. Jacobs life and see what he's done in the past now remember that he's not that old but he's already had run-ins before with the law he's already been accused of assaulting an older man and this is just going to continue it's going to escalate one day he's going to end up killing someone if he hasn't already I'm not a psychologist but if I had to guess I would say that he probably has an antisocial personality and I'm sure this is the common that the personality that is most common among criminals like mr. Jacobs you know the street thugs Street criminals gangsters drug dealers there is nothing in the world that mr. Foss could have said to mr. Jacobs that would justify him nearly being beaten to death and being put into a coma nothing so I disagree with law makers like Tiffany cup on and Senator Salazar I don't believe that criminals should be given or should be shown any leniency I believe in protecting the lives of the innocent that means law-abiding citizens who are not engaging in criminal activities and I would guess that mr. Foss was probably very liberal as most artists are they are right brained individuals usually and they usually tend to lean left in their politics and just the fact that he lived in Brooklyn and he was shopping in a neighborhood bodega tells me that he was probably a very tolerant open-minded person a very nice person but he just didn't know when to keep his mouth shut and I'm not blaming the victim or trying to be mean or hateful by saying that but what I'm trying to say is sometimes it's best just to let things go and it's a shame that we have to live that way that we can't always speak our mind and I'm not saying that we you can't speak your mind or you shouldn't speak your mind but sometimes it's better not to say anything at all just to avoid confrontation I would rather be quiet and stay alive than to open my mouth to the wrong person and be killed if that makes any sense to you guys the victim mr. Faust had every right to live out the rest of his life you know we don't know how what much longer he was going to live he was about 66 years old and you know he could live to be about 70 or he could live you know to be a hundred we don't know nobody knows how long they're going to live but what I'm saying is he had the right to live and to die of natural causes he shouldn't have been murdered like this over nothing and even if he lives his quality of life is not going to be very good one or so they say he'll never be the same again and he'll have to go to a nursing home and be cared for around-the-clock by other people and that is so sad okay that's all I have for now I do appreciate you folks joining me if you like my content please hit the like button and consider subscribing and as always thank you for listening
