Freeport celebrates local Maine artists

main artists were celebrated tonight in Freeport at a show inside the old Abercrombie & Fitch store right in the heart of the shopping district hundreds of people came through the doors some went home with works of art that they purchased Freeport town councillor Tony Whitney says it's important to create opportunities for the arts community to contribute to the local economy because that encourages local artists who keep creating it inspires them to do more and I was listening to one artist and he said if I sell a painting tonight I'll do more he said but I I can't really bring myself to do it often if I if I have art just sitting around the vacant store where the show is staged is available for lease
