Gel Polish Love Island Hand Painted Nail Art

Gel Polish Love Island Hand Painted Nail Art

Kirsty: Hi everybody, I'm Kirsty Meakin from Naio Nails. In this video, we are going to do Love Island nails. Oh my God! I don't even watch it. No, I do a little bit. I do watch it a little bit. Cassidy watches it more than anybody and my best friend, Izzy. So, I do watch it a little bit. I'm sure Adam does not watch it. Adam: I've never seen a single episode.
Kirsty: It is quite funny. Do you watch it, mum? Mum: No!
Kirsty: However, my mom is going to… Mum: I've never seen it. In my life.
Kirsty: Well, you're gonna get Love Island Nails today, mother Kirsty: …because the masses want them. They want Love Island nails, so we're doing them for you. Adam: We've got quite a lot of gel polishes out there, haven't you? Kirsty: We've got quite a lot of gel polishes out, that's because we're doing… if you go onto Instagram and go on to the Love Island Instagram, at the top, they've got sound bites. It's actually quite funny and these little characters for the sound bites. Shall I show them? Adam: Yeah.
Kirsty: Right! So, if you go onto Love Island Instagram, see this here, they're sound bites. Kirsty: Oh, that's actually…turned my phone off silent. [Clip playing] So, these four little characters here, so that's what we're gonna do. We're gonna do the four little characters. You get the gist of it? So, that's what we're gonna do. Adam: You look so excited about it man. Mum: I like the little characters actually but… Kirsty: Yeah, they're quite cute, aren't they?
Mum: Yeah, they're cute. Kirsty: So, we're gonna paint the background first and they're all gonna pretty much have the same background. All the characters are different colours, so we need to pick a background colour that will complement all of the characters. So, I've come up with mum's favourite colour, Kirsty: …which is Turquoise.
Mum: Turquoise! Kirsty: So, that's what we're gonna use as the background colour. So, we've got Spring Meadow, it's a gorgeous colour. Kirsty: I'm sure my mum will love this.
Mum: It is. Kirsty: So, I'm gonna put this on to all of the nails, so we've got a nice bright summery colour as our background colour. So, we want these nails to be quite fun and nice and bright. And I'll do two coats of this colour. Obviously, my mom's already got a set of pink and whites on but that doesn't matter, we can… we're gonna change up the nails by using gel polish. It's the beauty of gel polish. You can change up any set of nails. And a slightly darker colour, I'm gonna use Matcha. I am gonna wipe over with Gel Residue Wipe-off Solution because I don't want the gel polish to slide. So, if you take that sticky layer off the gel polish, then this gel polish won't actually slide. These need to be very simple, very cartoon-like. I mean, they're more palm leaves. I did say trees, didn't I? But I mean leaves. And you're actually just doing little flicks coming from that stem. I'm gonna do the pineapple first, so I will need a few different colours. So, we've got Lemon Top, Sherbet Lemon and Outrageous Orange. So, we're gonna use those colours for the base face first, for the main shape of the pineapple. So, I'm just mixing a little bit of Sherbet Lemon, with Lemon Top. So, they're all quite simple shapes, these characters are. I think that's what gives them the cute factor. Kirsty: You've not watched any Love Island, mum?
Mum: No! Kirsty: You're missing out on a bit of eye candy there.
Mum: Oh no! I don't want to be watching it. Mum: No, it's not my cup of tea. It's definitely not Luther. Kirsty: Yeah, it's definitely eye candy with Luther in there.
Mum: There we go. Kirsty: So, we've got that basic pineapple shape. Let's pop that into the lamp and cure that first. I'm gonna take a lint..a Melt-blown Wipe with a little bit of Gel residue Wipe-off Solution on, I'm gonna keep cleaning my brush on that. So, I'm gonna mix a little bit of Sherbet Lemon with some Outrageous Orange, just to lift that colour a little bit. I'm gonna go round this edge here. Just that bottom edge. Kirsty: Clean my brush. No, no, no! Don't get too excited, mom.
Mum: Oh dear! Kirsty: Then I'm gonna take a little bit of Lemon Top and a little bit of Snow White, just to lighten that a little bit more and then add a shine. Reflective shine on that side, and then we can cure that and then for its little pineapple top. We're gonna use bit of Cyanide. Not real cyanide. And we've also got Shamrock and I'm actually gonna mix those two together. Now, you wanna create a neat edge here first. and then let's go from the top here. Pull it down so you've got your first point and then we can work out from there. Pop me that in the lamp. Now, I've just got some Fire Cracker out. For the glasses, just obviously, pineapple were heart-shaped glasses. So, we're gonna start with the middle bit first and then we can do two full hearts because we can do the center over the black directly with the top of the red. Pop me them in, mom. And I'm gonna use Serious Black to do the inside of those glasses, the lenses. It's much easier to do it this way rather than doing the black and then outlining the black. It's easier to fill than it is to outline. Pop me that in the lamp. Now, we're gonna do the mouth and it's a laughing mouth. Gonna leave space for the teeth there and then, just kind of do like a bit of a love art shape for the tongue at the bottom. Pop me that in. So, we'll need white for the teeth. So, we got the teeth and then a bit of red for the tongue. I am just gonna take a little bit of Cyanide and add it to some of the leaves on one side just to enhance them and it will sort of give it a tiny bit of a shadow because it's slightly darker. Pop me that in the lamp. So, we're gonna use the same principle to paint the other ones because they're all the same style. So, you've got lollipop or Popsicle, if you're in America. There's a Watermelon and also a Donut as well. I am gonna topcoat these now because I'm gonna turn the hand and I'm gonna touch them. And I don't wanna touch them because I don't want to get all dust on them. So, Love Island. Alright! So, we're gonna use Glastonbury Nights and I'm gonna make banner. It like's a banner, ain't it this? Mum: Yeah. Kirsty: I'll do two coats on that as well. Just get a bit more colour. Pop that in. Kirsty: Alright! What I'm gonna do now is wipe…
Mum: You're not in. Kirsty: Oh, sorry, mom. She's good isn't she, putting me on camera? I'm just gonna wipe off sticky layer because I'm gonna paint with acrylic paint now. I'm gonna put a bit of a frame but I don't want it to be like perfect. I want it look a bit beachy. Adam: Beachy.
Kirsty: Beachy-like. Kirsty: How can I make it look more beachy, mom?
Adam: Pop some sand on it. Kirsty: There we are, bit of linage.
Mum: Linage. Kirsty: Bit of linage.
Adam: Hmm! I can't wait to be back on a beach. Kirsty: Yeah, that looks a bit more beachy, don't it? Adam: A bit worn.
Kirsty: Yeah, a bit worn-like. A bit like my mom. Kirsty: I'm only joking. Adam: Somebody needs a good clip. Kirsty: Mm-hmm!
Mum: Yeah! Adam: Never too old. Kirsty: Right! And the Love is really bold. So, I'm gonna add more paint to my brush so we'll get a thicker line and it's really pigmented. Don't like where that I is. Kirsty: Do you?
Mum: Why? Kirsty: It wasn't…it was like off the nail off. It needs one more thing. I'm happy with that. Alright! So, let's topcoat to seal. Adam: So, you're doing Kirsty's nail in the next vid. Adam: You ever done Kirsty's nail?
Mum: No! Adam: No!
Mum: No. Oh, dear! Kirsty: Pop that in.
Mum: That'd be terrible. Kirsty: Now, I've learnt, quite recently actually, that characters, when you're painting characters, I do think they look better when they are matte. I just think they look a lot clearer. So, what I'm gonna do is just buff over these nails to make them matte. So, just using a soft buffer. But we're gonna get matte top coat on, mom. I wouldn't have lost his eyes, now I buffed one of his eyes off. Kirsty: And this other eye is gone.
Mum: Oh! Stop being so rough. Kirsty: It won't take me two minutes to put the eye back on. Kirsty: So, I'm gonna put some Cuticle Oil on. Adam: I kind of like them glossy. Kirsty: Do you?
Adam: I did, yeah. Adam: Hmm! Kirsty: There you, are guys. Some Love Island for my mum. I hope she's bloody gonna love them. Mum: Oh, yes!
Kirsty: Yes, maybe we should have chose a younger person. Mum: What?
Kirsty: No, no no! I know what I mean. Kirsty: I mean a young…
Mum: That's rude. Kirsty: …I mean a younger person that watches… Mum: Somebody who appreciate them, that's what you mean?
Kirsty: Yeah! I just think that the younger generation Kirsty: …watch Love Island, the older generation don't really. That's why I didn't really watch it because I'm an old fart as well. Kirsty: Sorry, mom. I do love you.
Mum: Yes! Kirsty: Do you like your nail?
Mum: Yeah, I like them. I like them because they're not really like… Kirsty: They're not overly obvious they're Love Island.
Mum: No! Kirsty: Yeah, they're cute.
Mum: Yeah. Kirsty: Oh, there you are! Everything I've used will be listed below because there's a lot of gel polishes there and will all be listed below and I'll see you in the next video. Bye-bye! Oh! Mum: Oh my Love. Mum: Oh!
Kirsty: Oh, mom! Mum: Sorry! You shook the thing there, I was trying to get out of the way. Kirsty: Adam.
Adam: What? Kirsty: She put her finger in the paint.
