Getting creative with Performers in Massive X ( Includes preset download )

in this video we'll be exploring the performer section in massive X and in particular how we can use it to create unique sequence bass sounds by exploring the compression and stretch tools we load our any preset and from there navigate to the oscillator section and load the talkative squares wavetable from the format section yeah you and then the fine so low drift table from the drift section which is a stat cord wavetable we shape the tone of oscillator one via the mode sections selecting the art mode for oscillator one bringing the pitch and width parameter down we also pitch up oscillator 2 by one octave for a brighter feel considering we'll be using a single note to trigger our sound we can compensate by adding some movement via an LFO using a sine wave LFO to slowly scan through both wave tables [Applause] whilst also modulating the pitch parameter on oscillator one we now modulate the volume of both oscillators with a performer navigating to the performer we set up a four bar loop activate the unipolar mode and then select our curve and click and drag to draw in our performer curves we can then click and drag just above the curve editor to select them all now we can edit the envelope of all curves with one gesture while star curves are still highlighted the stretch and compress tools are active we can use these to customize the grid in order to create interesting rhythms that don't follow strict divisions let's now add some attitude to the sound by some insert effects we patch in to insert effects and add the bit crusher for some crunch and the folder for some added Distortion we also add the dimension expander in the main effects section adding some nice depth and detail you returning to the performer let's now take a look at the overlay function the previous compressive stretch tools work on existing curves with the overlay function we can customize the grid in a similar way before we add the curves we first need to activate the overlay and then set our overlay length a number of divisions once set we can stretch or compress our overlay section to our liking and then I'd in our curves you
