Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts: School of Art

The ASU School of Art in the Herberger
Institute for Design and the Arts is ranked as a national leader in visual arts
education by US News and World Report. This is one of the largest art
institutions in the country. Internationally recognized faculty serve
not only as teachers but also as mentors to help students further develop their
artistic skills. We have four galleries that are devoted to the exhibition of
student work throughout the year. The students and faculty of the School of
Art also have the direct on-campus resource of the ASU Art Museum and
its Ceramic Research Center. The School of Art welcomes students interested in
all aspects of visual art including fashion, art education, art history, museum
studies and the studio arts. Students may pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree
with concentrations in art education, ceramics, drawing, fibers, intermedia,
painting, photography or printmaking or sculpture. There is no portfolio required
at the time of admission to ASU but some BFA concentrations will require
portfolio submissions, BFA photography is an example. You can select a link on the
