How to create Circular Arrows in PowerPoint using SmartArt

Hello! I am Ramgopal from presentation
process.com In this edition of PowerPoint SmartArt Tutorial Series you will learn to create nice circular arrows using SmartArt. The circular arrows you will learn to create look
like this. Aren’t they beautiful? You can use them for
Agenda slides, where you color them all in one color and then differentiate one specific arrow with a different
color. And you can move that differentiation as you move across the various
sections in your presentation. So that is how you can use circular arrows for agenda slides. You can use this to show circular process. You can use it
to show reinforcing processes. There are many ways in which you
can use circular arrows in your business presentations. Let me show you how to create
these circular arrows using SmartArt. So, now let us go to a new slide. The first thing I’m going to do is
to go to Insert ->SmartArt. I’m going to choose the option called as Cycle. Under ‘Cycle’ option, I’m going to select this
option called as ‘Segmented cycle’. Once you select ‘OK’, you will see the ‘Segmented Cycle inserted in the slide. The next step is to add as many arrows as you want. So, I’m going to have a six step circular process. So I have added three
more ‘Enter’s in the bullet points. So, I could get six segmented circles
here. The next step is to select this one and click on the ‘bounding box’. So, the
whole diagram gets selected. Go to ‘Convert’ and use this option
called as ‘Convert to Shapes’. As soon as you do that, the SmartArt now
gets converted into Auto Shapes. Now, this is a group. Right click ->go to Group and press ‘Ungroup’ option. Now, select the portions inside, by clicking on
them and then press ‘Delete’. Make sure that
you only select the segments here and leave the circular
arrows intact. And because these are a
combination of SmartArt shapes, you would be able to
easily separate the segments from the Arrows. Now, select all of them again. and if you want you can use ‘Ctrl + G’
to group them. Right click. Go to ‘Format shape’. and under ‘Fill’ ->use the option called
as ‘Solid Fill’. As soon as you choose ‘Solid Fill’ – you can change the color. You can change the color to say – Black. Now, we have our circular arrows ready. Maybe, if you want you can actually make
one of the circular Arrows in red. So, I’m going to go to ‘Shape Fill’ ->and maybe I can use this red color. As you can see, just as it happens in any auto shape, you have these yellow handles as well. If you want, you can increase the thickness of the circular arrows. Or, if you want, you can make it go out and then you can change the shape to make it thinner. Or you can reduce or extend the length of the arrows. You can do a lot
of things the diagram that you’ve just
created. All you need to do is to use the text box to add relevant text. and you can place it where you want, and
increase the size of the font. So that kind of completes the circular arrow. I want to show you some applications of
circular arrows used in business presentations. And the example templates that I’m going
to show you are taken from our PowerPoint CEO Packs Volumes – 1 & 2 This is the first example. This
shows five steps in the process. and we have added another shape inside. Another set of shapes inside rather. And
here is a cyclic process, where we have
combined a circular arrows with a hexagon. and if you’re not happy with a simple circular arrows diagram template, you can
always go for something more fancy like this one here, where you can see the circular arrows look like pieces of arrows cut and pasted on your slide. So, you can have each of the text here coming on ‘click’. You can also use something as simple as this. The technique to make this is slightly
different from what I’ve just shown you. If you’re
a busy business presenter, who doesn’t have the time to create such professional graphics for
yourself, you can always take a look at our PowerPoint
CEO Packs Volume 1 and 2. The 2 CEO packs have more than 1,600 fully editable charts, and graphics for CEOs and Business presenters. Just choose the template that matches your thoughts and replace with sample text
with your own text, and your business slides get ready in no
time. Creating professional quality business slides has never been easier. Hope you liked our tutorial. If you want
