How to Reduce Dwg File Size, Clean Autocad Drawing with Super Purge command|P5V2

Hey, hey This is your channel The Lazy Arquitecto. I am Luis Sanchez helping you in reaching our dreams to be an architect today’s tip and trick is how to reduce significantly the size of drawing in Autocad As you can see in these drawings We have huge files So let me open it up so in order to reduce the size of this drawing What we probably would do is use our purge command purge all enter no Right? and then if we save the drawing We’re going to see right here at the bottom the nothing really changed, our drawing is still huge So I created a routine and Macro that Use purge command, DgNpurge and save the drawing and I named it Super purge [basically] this routine has some Autodesk Autocad Autodesk files that are inside this command and I will show you how to get it later, but First let me explain you how this works as you can see we already try that purge command in Autocad, and it doesn’t really work because we have Hundreds of line types nested in this drawing as well as many blocks layers and Any other objects that are nested inside the drawing so even though you use your purge command It doesn’t really work your file is stilll huge So just to show you the results that we’re going to get if I use my super purge command If I click on it It’s going to analyze the drawing it’s going to take a couple of seconds and then At the bottom we’re going to see That the elements section drawing which is one I’m super purging right now It’s going to really really significantly reduce the size of the drawing let’s wait a couple of seconds more and Boom! can you see this? from almost [9,000] sorry 5,000 Kb, it reduces to 421 421 Kb isn’t this amazing? Okay So let’s explain a little bit what [happened] in this drawing in order to get this really really small size drawing We check here on home we can see that the line types that weren’t used in this drawing are gone, so [that’s] one thing and Now let’s check all [of] the actions that this Routine or Macro Realized on this drawing We go all the way down really quick and you see this is what happened behind the scenes in this drawing, so [many] objects nested objects in this drawing It’s really really a lot So what does superpurge does? is remove all of these nested objects line types, Layers, blocks that aren’t being used in this drawing And then really really decrease the size of the file of the drawing so Just to show you that This [really] works on any drawing. I’m going to try it on this other drawing roof one You can see I’m going to open it first you can see there that it is around 4000 Kb so now Again, I’m going to try [to] [purge] [it] right like we usually do Purge Command just to show you that doesn’t really do anything all enter [no] now we save And you see here at the bottom that it didn’t really do anything Okay, now we’re going to use again our superpurge. Come on click Let’s give it a couple of seconds Then we’re going to see at the bottom how this drawing Is going to change Boom! now it is 770 Kb. Can you see the difference it is [really] amazing, okay This was today’s tip and trick from The Lazy Arquitecto Thank you for watching if you have any questions Or you have any ideas for future [videos] leave them on the comments below?
