does it hello it is going alright bye everybody wait you ready yeah okay hi everybody this is Flint long and I'm talking with Ron Hargrave the writer of the famous Jerry Lee Lewis song High School Confidential and hi Ronnie hey now it's we're we're gonna start at the beginning first of all High School Confidential that's not the first song you wrote nobody it's the biggest sovereign okay it was but before that I wrote some songs for myself because I was at a contacted contract to MGM records okay at the time yeah and that's how I got established as a writer with my A&R man and he told me that one day that he told me one day that Jerry Lee Lewis would be coming to town and he's gonna be doing a movie there at MGM and here you gonna need a song so if I wrote a song you see to it I got to play it for Jerry at the producers office so is that what happened Jerry Jerry Lee came in and you played it for and I thought what an opportunities I know when I had about six buff about four weeks and I thought of this song I tried to figure out how to write a song that he would instantaneously like yeah so I hadn't yet something was right up his alley immediately right and so I thought of high school first I thought of that if we think of an old song go over the door Richard where they go the duck open the door Richard Victor open the door and let me and so I did detective open up honey it's you love upon me oh that's pretty good that's how I got ya so you got the first line yeah and this young guy sisters is chicken come on baby let's go uh-huh why don't you this to me sugar brother I catch her at the high school rockin honey get your poppin shoes Bam Bam chick Jerry Lee – hey everybody puppet hey everybody hoppin boppin at the high school that was right up his alley and it was right up his alley yeah so when I got there I had my little little guitar and I came in here's Jerry day and he's got this look on his face I mean this guy cocky yeah cuz he's like no bur wonder in the country he was already number one with Oscar Davis and produce or Zaire Smith Smith and my A&R man was going oh my god do that again so I did it again it wasn't purposes Hill and I really nervous so I did it again and he says come on over here and they had a piano in this great big office oh it was a British office he said come on over here so I come over to the piano with him and he sits down and I started let me move this forward a little bit and he went and he started fooling with it son of a gun yeah how are you doing honey yeah oh he's so he started right away John right away right in the kids perhaps a song uh-huh and he just you just got up and kind of like it was man oh you said that's the song I want to do all right and I went boy
