Making a Small, Wood, Double Torus Art Sculpture

Making a Small, Wood, Double Torus Art Sculpture

OK, take six. I should make a blooper reel. I’ve had this piece of ambrosia maple sitting
around for years and I never did anything with it. I originally intended to glue on rings to
make a segmented bowl from it. This would be the base. I don’t think I’m going to do that. I’m going to make two concentric rings out
of this piece. I don’t have a lot of wood to spare though,
so I have to be careful not to waste too much wood out of this. It will be small, but a pretty cool looking
piece, I think. I already marked the centre on this quite
some time ago. As I suspected, I have made this too small. Now I can’t get in here to make a hole in
the middle with the tools I have. Admittedly, this took me longer than I thought
it would for various reasons. I certainly learned a few things by making
one of these this size. This certainly is a pretty piece of wood. I put some oil-based varnish on it. It got a lot darker than I thought it would. This wood really soaked up the finish. I have to put several more coats on. If you have made it this far, thanks for watching. Thanks a lot to all the new subscribers that
have come over recently. Hopefully, you will stick around for more
cool projects from Cammie’s Garage. OK, take four or is it five? I do not know. Bye Cam! See you Lori, love you!
