Pyrography Fine Art Butterfly Dreams pyrography techniques in wood burning

Hi. Welcome to Pyrography Made Easy.
I’m Brenda. In this time-lapse episode I’m gonna share with you the Butterfly Dreams artwork that I created This was created for Kit Kraft, and they supplied the board that I burned on. And I will have to say that it was a very
nice piece of basswood board The artwork was a little bit challenging in a way, well I shouldn’t say the artwork the tutorial I wrote up was a little challenging because I had a word limit and a picture limit for it. And I don’t have to worry about
that normally on my own website. Anyway, I had a lot of fun creating the
artwork and I hope you’ll enjoy the video. Well I hope you enjoyed the video. As I said the artwork was burned on basswood that Kit Kraft supplied. And it took me 6 and 1/4 hours to do it. In the description below I put a link to my
website: Pyrography Made Easy That has a written tutorial, well a link to the tutorial for this. The link will actually take you to Kit Krafts website. Well thank you for watching my video, and I will see you next week.

Love the composition. I'm sure that tutorial will be popular. I'm still watching the video,

This project was created for Kit Kraft and they supplied the board I used. The board was cut in half and I always thought that you could create a "sweet dreams" sign with the remaining board. It would be great in a baby's room. πŸ™‚ Brenda

  • Pyrography Pete says:

Another stunning project Brenda, as usual, and very colourful. I'm waiting to receive my burner – I decided on the Razertip SS-D10 – so I'll be burning quite soon. What I've never really considered is adding colour to a project, for a couple of reasons. One, I wouldn't know where to begin, what brand or medium to choose and two, I'd be too worried about spoiling a project because of poor choice in colouring or the medium and I'd probably forget to use the correct sealant before finishing the artwork and ruin it. Again, I suppose practice is the best option so I'll no doubt jump in.

hi brenda i live in northern maine we have been"snow storming " most of the wk;[;[;[ soo ready for spring..anyways i have looked and looked for a tutorial pyro like yours to learn from THANK YOU!!!!!! im a very basic novist and never took an art class , i just "copy/ paste/wood burn.. to the best i can.. then try filling in here/ there .i have a walnut hollow pen. just basic..with most of the tips.. how did you get into wood burning? did you take art classes? what kind of pyro equipt do you use? as far as i know….i havent found anyone around me that pyros;[;[;[ id like to try and maybe sell some..but maybe in time..your instruction is what iv been looking for step/ step and technics;];];] what seems to be your favorite wood to work on? ive only done pine/ a couple basswoods and cedar…..from what im understanding …cherry and maple are the best, then poplar. pine and bass are ok,,, but the tip gets caught in the grooves and makes "dots" which is hard to fix;[;[;[ i see you use an easel to work on…is that easier?? i just have your beater of a flat top table that i found at a junk shop..its ok..still learning ;];];] ive watched a few of a canadains videos called dylans DIY ..he does some wood burning and has a few good ideas ;];];] nice guy;];];] he uses a razor burner i guess.anyways.. im EXCITED I FOUND YOU;];];] thanks again ;];]

  • draw easy channel says:

so amazing …big fan of your art !

  • Kiss My Art says:

Hi Brenda this is soooo beautiful!!! I found it hard to paint only one butterfly and you have created so many!! I really like the composition and how they are dancing above the flowers!! Keep up the amazing work as always and have a wonderful week!!! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

  • Richy Coelho says:

Hi Brenda. You have combined two of my favourite subjects – flowers and butterflies. Beautiful result, as always. I'm very tempted to use more color. I think I don't use it much because I don't want it to take away the pyrography work. It has to be very soft. Loved the crystal idea. It gives a beautiful final touch. Thank you for sharing.

  • Artworld says:

This is amazing…if you know how to colour you made it so real ..that's amazing

  • Drawing Book says:

    Fantastic. Lovely

  • Dennis C. Nolasco says:

Wow, the colors really make the butterflies more vivid + the extra touch with the beads.

I have a question Brenda, so I noticed you used both paint and colored pencils for the colors. Any particular reason why you used both instead of just either pencil or paint?
