This is our mannequin Michelle. Now, looking
at her to start with, you wouldn’t think that we had done much to her and you’re right.
If you will remember, this is the mannequin when I was showing you the balayage technique
that I showed you, that you could just go in and paint just a very few streaks in the
hair. This is going to be a very short video clip because this was a very, very short process.
I just decided you might have two clients that you’re working on at the same time, or
a client that is very, very hesitant of doing color and you just want to ease them into
it a little bit. When I did this mannequin, I actually used the balayage method but all
I did was go down one side of the head and painted five or six little accent streaks
in the hair. Again, if I were doing that, I wouldn’t want to take it too light (depending
on the desires of our customer). Now, we know that we do have customers that want it very
avant-garde. They want it very, very dramatic. For this particular demonstration, I just
wanted some highlights. I’m going to show you the side of the head. Now, this is the
side that we didn’t do anything to. You can see she is a very, very warm brown but she
is mostly one color. She’s got a smathering of gray in it but we didn’t do anything to this
side. I’m going to have the camera zoom in and I will turn her back around to the front.
If I can, I’m going to walk over to this side and you can see just the streaks that I did.
Now, I will turn her back around so you can see the front but see these streaks right
here? How natural looking they are? They come all the way down. You can see another one
here… another one here. If you go underneath, you can see the streak here that goes down
to the bottom. I’m going to turn her around with the camera still zoomed in and bend her
down. You can see how this highlight is right up here on the very top and if you spread
it out, there is a whole lot more in there than you think there is. You can just use
your imagination. If I had done the other side exactly like that, that would be wonderful
but I just did one side because I wanted you to be able to see the difference. Again, by
using the balayage method, I really, really feathered the product in towards the scalp
area. She’s not going to have a line of demarcation when she decides to let this grow out. I mean,
it could grow way down to here. She wouldn’t have to get a retouch but hopefully by just
doing this little service for her, you have got her hooked on it and she’s going to come
back and want some more. As I said, this is going to be a very short video. I’m trying
to get it right in the light. You have a lot of clients come in that want caramel colored
highlights, or caramel, however you like to say it. I believe that’s what this is. You
can see it go all the way down to the end. It follows with the wave of the hair. If I
had gone in.. I did put… Let’s see if the camera can see. There are some right here
at this hair line right in here and right in here. So, if she pulled her hair back,
she would have little streaks in there to but this just lays nicely at the face with
this wave and just accents the face. It would be up to you how much you wanted to charge
to do this little add on service but this is just a good way to introduce your clients
to color if they are a little bit afraid of it. I think she looks very, very nice on one
side. We need to go back and do the other side now.
