tango for musicians is the leading tango workshop for musicians worldwide providing the tools needed to play arranged compose and improvise tango music in 2017 the fifth edition of tango for musicians at Reed College will take place on the beautiful campus of Reed College in Portland Oregon presented in collaboration with the prestigious Chamber Music Northwest festival our artistic faculty ranks among the world's greatest tango players composers and band leaders they are also passionate teachers and experienced educators many of them are authors in the middle eighth annual book series the first in theologic folks that teach tango for musicians published in Germany by record E and available in four languages the artistic faculty for 2017 features some of the world's greatest tango players composers and band leaders including premier oho view of kisi parina fine XE Gilman Terra Ignacio watch out key Hernan paucity evolve Sarah tell Enrique's Michael Evita and Morgan Luca our week-long program consists of rigorous curriculum including instrumental technique classes ensembles and specialized master classes and Arrangements composition tango history styles and more running everyday from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. after each day's lessons we also offer several activities that are open to the public including tango history lectures and the mini festival of concert performances featuring our artistic faculty and students assembles providing a breathtaking portrait of contemporary tango music this year at Reed College concurrent with the dates of tango for musicians we will also present tango for composers our new program designed for composers wanting to experiment with in the tango Jean tango for composers will feature faculty members do of CC and execute Montera a first class ensemble will rehearse the students pieces throughout the week and will perform them for the public a chamber music Northwest's new at noon concert series every year musicians from all around the US Europe and Asia come to Reed College for an inspiring week of music making
