The Coolest Art at Comic Con 2019

everybody I'm back comic-con it is opening day it's Thursday you're in the show floor and go look for some artists you know a lot of people like to come here for photo ops they like to come here for the exclusives they like to come here for the LexA Bowls I like check out all these like most cool art and artist alley pop culture arts come with me check [Applause] this is the first artist to catch my eye Adam lupus I love this thing from stranger things a little bit mix of season one and season two I haven't seen all of season three yet so there's nothing in there winning Garth Beetlejuice met Troy Vincent personal work mixed into I love the style on this thank you my full-time job is I am a product designer for Target Corporation so I do lots of kids products of any t-shirts toys well it all looks very cool right next to Adam is David Pryor I actually have this gizmo piece on my wall at home you started an animation I did I started for Warner Brothers Williamson Animaniacs cartoons back in the nineties oh you can definitely see the style here is the castle there that they start in one of the castles in the parks yeah that was actually done for a friend of mine for 48 for 40th birthday so celebration it's amazing thank you J Salvador's super emo friends been going on for 10 years I actually owned some of his work in my house I just love how emo some of this stuff is [Applause] [Applause] there's a fantastic matchup a return of the Jedi and musically step gear my best storyboard artist and a character artist so I do a lot of freelancing for short films and other commercial the idea kind of started when I was doing a bunch of these small Totoro kidnapped and basically done a run sexy Totoro this sounds like a popping a comedy like a fun thing to do I did a Princess Leia one also then that kind of like sparked an idea for doing series this world which is how I created the comic oh so there's a whole comic book as well here's artist Justin or I really like this guy's style he's here every year and he's at like multiple conventions and I think the problem is that he doesn't come out with that many new prints so it's a lot of like the same stuff that we've seen year after year but again I really love the style one of my favorite custom toy people with DKE toys they have a key on Oh toy series 45-65 basically they make custom toys out of old action figures a lot of them are kind of pretty funny also edible some of them are like mashups I really like the Scot see the adaptation Scott sees great showdown they do a bunch of those Ewok ellipse now well that's great or how about how to train your stranger thing yep it's a star bong totally for kids they aren't a small player but Acme has some cool art that I want to show you really like this retro series for the Star Wars prequels this one's by JJ Lin del here's Revenge of the set and of course Attack of the Clones it looked like he did some for the original trilogy as well because here is Return of the Jedi at the conclusion of final confrontation I love the Han and Carbonite in the middle another one of my favorite artists is Eric tan he did this set in I think 2008 I bought them as friends but now they're available as canvases for one hundred and forty five dollars I really like Eric and style oh whoa JB Wendell did a Raiders of the Lost Ark I like how classic this looks another one of my favorites Tom Whelan did this tree house of horror for actually how good does this look in this floated frame I love the colors this is a fantastic piece right here it was a so cuppie's by Danny harmless so amazing so good if you've ever wanted to own a life-size Han Solo in carbonite here's way to get one a little bit cheaper this is by Craig Skaggs in its $1,000 on canvas it's huge or you can get out on paper rolled for $79 now we're finally getting to the real artists alley let's see what we can find here this is the art of Penelope Gaylord I really like these couple pieces and there isn't enough spider-man into the spider-verse art and also the Disney dog base is adorable look at Goose coolest away sign ever artist rob reap gives us some mashups we never knew we wanted like a bird's matchup of Star Wars ready player one mashup of guardians of the galaxy so this is the artwork of Brian K Turner I really like his colors and again another spider-man into the spider-verse art that's really good just work out the hose you know an artist is popular when have a sign for the end of the line artist Katie cook hard at work art is so subjective I think it's tough because everybody with art has a different aesthetic people like different things seeing old art I'm showing you here from comic-con if you're only seeing the stuff I like which is probably giving you an inside like the style and the kind of artists and the kind of mashups and art I enjoy so much art here at comic-con I I'm only showing you maybe five percent of it there's so many so many cool things although I think these cat superheroes by Angie who are really cute Peter B Nugent has a beautiful women of DC Comics friends above the detailing in all of these characters and we have left the official artists alley and I'm still looking for some art to show you some more to curate for you artist William Stout is here has a new Kong Skull Island friend awesome classic Park Kamio huh hey William hey doing are those both new is brand new this is the booth of Andy Park he's the director of visual development and Marvel Studios so he's responsible for the look of a lot of the characters that you know and love it's cool that Marvel lets him sell his work as friends [Applause] even has some original art for sale here Joey speedo and you were probably most known for these cute little cuddly books yeah yeah what are they what do we wouldn't call them now the series is called story time how did they come about I started doing them through gallery shows a gallery 1988 in Los Angeles and I did some shows some pieces for an Edgar Wright show and they took often really well sold out like the night of the show and so I just sort of continued the series movies music TV shows video games and now there's a book there's a book yeah this book here is a collection of a lot of them I wouldn't say although this is almost gone forever I have a few copies left yeah and and then you also do the album cover I did yeah this is another series that I started doing before I did the children's books and same idea word sort of movies music TV shows video games inspired by the 60s and 70s so I take that stuff and it kind of turn them into these children's record album and those doing the work in your car Joey you know I'm a big fan of your stuff [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] a lot of people in that last video are like where are the comic books at Comic Con so here's a look at some original art that you can buy here's the convention from comics there's a bunch a bunch of rows of original arts some of it affordable some of it really expensive this is the booth of one of my other favorite artist Daniel danger I just love how moody the details in these prints he doesn't do a ton of pop culture artwork it's basically just like these landscapes well all of the art is pretty incredible I mean here is one and he did for it for mondo but a lot of it as you can see is not pop-culture related I think his newest right here it's pretty incredible to keep them here's a couple other pop culture stuff he does he did this series a Batman on top of closed franchises another artist that followed for quite some time as a hundred percent soft is the one that makes a lot of those emojis that you see on Twitter like he did the Star Wars emojis a lot of the stuff for the Disney movies and he actually here at Comic Con has officially licensed Avengers posters he's selling like one a day for all four movies and what's even more popular he has this like little dumpster fire I guess it's a limited-edition hand-painted resin boy and that's been really really popular lines down the block and there's only you know I think 60 of a mate so pretty insane some cute pins he always has cute stuff I love one with a longer line it's every year in Artist Alley is Patrick B he's one of my favorite artists his newest series lets you take two characters and they can be communicating with each other with cans and strings and it lets you mix and match the thing that he's most known for these $0.25 wonders this is a series they he did reimagining those rides that were outside like supermarkets but it presents them in the most fantastical way bake larger than land your favorite movies and reimagines them as like children riding these rides and these are extremely popular he makes exclusives for various conventions so you got to get your hands on them when you can and that comic-con piece released three new Game of Thrones pieces that I guess you can to connect together he also you to spend in rows we challenged this so I think we found enough art at Comic Con hopefully you enjoyed this video blog if you did please hit subscribe below give us the thumbs up we'll see you next time thanks for watching you
