The Perfect Daily Schedule for High Performers



I'm dr. Isaac Jones and today I want to talk about daily schedules how do you create the most high performing daily routine daily schedule that will completely allow for you to access the highest level of physical and mental performance that you can possibly achieve I've been working with entrepreneurs and executives and professional athletes and a lot of high-performing people for the last eight years and we understand how important creating a scheduled daily schedule is to high performance and so a lot of the most successful people that I know have a very powerful schedule some people you know have a little bit more of a flowing schedule because that's their personality other people have a very rigid schedule so whether you fit in the first category the second category this videos for you the first thing you want to make sure that you do is create a schedule to optimize productivity right it seems kind of simple but what does that actually look like the one thing that you want to do is create an opportunity to focus on the number one objective that you want to get done in a particular day first it creates such an incredible amount of achievement and success and a feeling of winning because in the first hour or maybe three hours of the day you've created and overcome the biggest obstacle or challenge or objective that you wanted to achieve before you get an email before you get into anything else so you've got to prioritize what you want to get done before you start helping all these other people get done what they want to get done through you the the second thing is prioritize people relationships it's important aspect of our day of our weeks of our months to make sure that we're prioritizing connection and authentic relationships so you know I've got a hard stop every day at 5:30 because I want to help my wife with my two kids Erica justice and Isaac I want to go out for a bike ride with them I want to support Erica and whatever I can do for her but that's a really enjoyable part of my day something absolutely essential to put into your daily schedule the other thing that you want to do is create block times for physical activity right so you've got productivity you've got people and then you've got physical activity a lot of people don't realize that if you don't block time for physical activity it's not necessarily going to get done it's hard to get done so what I recommend is make sure you block the three times the four times the five times a week that you're gonna go to yoga you're gonna go to the gym and workout you're gonna go to CrossFit you're gonna go to Pilates you're gonna go for a walk or go for a jog or whatever it is and with that being said if you're not somebody that does physical activity just follow the the top habit transformation expert in the world BJ Fogg and just start start small you know create a literally 2-minute time chunk three times a week for you to get outside and go for a walk I know two minutes sounds ridiculous but what happens is you start doing it and it creates an identity of you working out so the other thing that you want to prioritize is nutrition into your daily schedule all the high performers I work with they have at least one meal that they control in the day it might be a green shake in the morning it might be you know something that they create for lunch or bring to work for lunch if they're traveling they pre pack snacks and they they order off events to cart some things to come to their house before they they travel or they'll google where the location is that they're going and the different restaurants and the different grocery stores that are healthier options for them to go to to essentially fuel their bodies with high-performing nutrition so that's important being intentional about your nutrition premeditating where you're going to go and and really creating excellence at least one meal a day where you're controlling it and then you know when you get to a really high level of performance wherever you go whatever restaurant you've got a certain standard of what you're gonna pick off the menu and then you've got play so we've talked about productivity we've talked about people we talked about physical activity we've talked about nutrition but another really important thing that high performers have is play so by integrating play into your into your week it actually increased creativity and it also increases your ability to get more done in less time it increases your productivity so it might be mountain biking I love mountain biking I love basketball I love you know just getting out throwing a football with some friends I love you know just wrestling with my kids you know there are a lot of different things that you can do for play but create a list of the things that you like to do and actually block time for you to be able to rejuvenate rigid and and really create the opportunity for you to laugh and have fun and do the things that will get you into flow state which absolutely increases your productivity and your creativity and then of course you've got stress relief so you've got to integrate like massage or chiropractic care or you know just just going for a walk or bath you know baths throughout the week like I'm going to take a bath Monday Wednesday and Friday at 9 o'clock whatever it is right you as opposed to watching TV bring your iPad to the to the bathtub and watch TV in the bath right so you've got stress relief into your into your day but the most important thing that you want to integrate into your daily schedule is a morning routine by far this is the number one thing that will help to drive high performance in your day because five minutes of a morning routine will completely transform your day it helps to rewire your brain for excellence it helps your amygdala which is the goal-setting center of your brain to really focus on the things that will access high performance throughout the day so with all that being said we've talked about productivity we've talked about people we've talked about physical activity we've talked about nutrition we've talked about play right
