UWM Student Artist in Residence finds a home with the elderly

You look so nice today. It's like there's an occasion or something. I think my favorite part about being here as an artist is the relationships that I'm building with people. Eined, Eined this is good. I'm a Student Artist in Residence here at Chai Point and it is senior living home and I'm living here a Student Artist in Residence. A Student Artist in Residence is a student who is assigned an area or community to work with. We create something that we don't know what we're creating until the end. I could see this hanging hanging somewhere. I like the gold on the lips and the eyes. Living in a senior center it's something very different there's so much life and energy here that it, it surprises my friends when they come here. You would expect that it's like this quiet, quieter area but there's a concert going on and it's movie night and it's just like good things happening all the time. Oh that nose. That nose is peaking out. I'm so lucky to be working with Professor Basting, she is really encouraging this growth and care communities to be doing these things and changing the way that we view people and encourage creativity. I think doing research as an artist is something I never expected that just didn't fall along the lines of going to painting class. It's a great opportunity and it's something really happy that somehow I got on this path. Thanks Anne. There's something so valuable to this that I would love to see this go into many senior care facilities. It works well for the student, it works well for the residents and I think that intergenerational living, I think it's fantastic. That didn't work at all.
